In 2008, the Danfoss Foundation for Education awarded 91 scholarships worth a total of DKK 688,204.
The foundation received 156 applications for standard scholarships. 90 of the applications were accepted and most were awarded DKK 5-6,000 DKK. 34 of the scholarships were awarded to students studying abroad.
66 applications were turned down for the following reasons:
36 had insufficient or no relationship to Danfoss
6 were outside the scope of the Foundation
13 had received the maximum number of scholarships
11 had applied prematurely
- No apprentice scholarship was awarded in 2008 as there were no suitable candidates.
- The Foundation awarded a scholarship to a foreign student attending the Mads Clausen Institute at the University of Southern Denmark in Sonderborg for the period 2008-2010. The student was from Brazil.
